Friends of Horfield Common meetings take place at the Ardagh Pavilion, Kellaway Avenue, Bristol BS6 7YL
This part of Horfield Common is accessible on all sides by foot from Kellaway Avenue, Maple Road and Hughenden Road.
The site is fully wheelchair/pushchair friendly, with access involving long tarmacked surfaces. There is a delightful café with patio and toilet facilities (please check the ardagh.com for opening times as the site is locked at night). The Ardagh site is also dog friendly.
By Car: There is very limited car parking outside The Ardagh. Access to the small Ardagh car park is via a turning nearly opposite to the junction for Lime Trees Road (close to Golden Hill Tesco), but please note that this car park can get very busy at times. Other parking is available on-road on Kellaway Avenue.
By Bus: Please note that Horfield Common stretches from both sides of the upper part of Kellaway Avenue (near the Ardagh), up to where Gloucester Road becomes Filton Road (by Horfield Leisure Centre).
The nearest bus stops to the Ardagh site are:
Kellaway Ave (505, 13): Stops at the top of Castle Field or by Wellington House. The most accessible bus stop.
Ashley Down Road (many buses): Involves a steady but pleasant walk up the hill and Common, through Maple Road Field/Hughenden Field, or via Bottom Field/Castle Field.
Muller Road Top (many buses): Involving a flatter but longer walk along Kellaway Avenue and the church.
At the other end of the Common, the nearest bus stop to Horfield Leisure Centre is Horfield Sport Centre (many buses).
