We are very excited to launch our new series of guided walks on Horfield Common.
Discover the wildlife, habitats and rich history of the Common through a range of expert-led walks. To book any of these events, please go to our Eventbrite page here. These walks do tend to sell out very quickly. If demand is high, we will try and put on extra events, so do join the relevant waiting list or email us at [email protected] if you are unable to get on any of these.

This summer we are running TALKS ON THE COMMON; a series of nature and history walks/talks on and about Horfield Common. The first in our series is a Spring Bat Walk, led by Steve England, which you can book via Eventbrite: www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/spring-bat-walk-discovering-bats-in-action-at-horfield-common-tickets-1984708540672?aff=oddtdtcreator&keep_tld=true This is a family-friendly guided walk led by wildlife educator, local historian and nature enthusiast, Steve England (Steve England Outdoor Learning). We will walk around Horfield Common to spot, identify and learn all about these wonderful flying mammals. Using bat detectors, we will identify species in flight. We will look at the various habitats and learn how bats see in the dark, how they find their food, how they find their way back home and why they are thriving in North Bristol.
