Time: 15:00 - 16:30pm Free (suggested donation £2) This will be a casual walk led by the Friends, where we'll walk the route together and share the knowledge of the trees and wildlife that went into making the Twelve Trees Trail leaflet. If you've not yet had a chance to try the Trail, or you're an avid fan and want more facts, it will be a great way to learn more about the wonderful trees of the Common! All welcome and suitable for families. Please see the trail for details of the route and no worries if you can't complete the whole route with us. There will be 20 places on the walk and tickets are free (suggested donation of £2 if you're able to) - just email us at [email protected] to secure your place and be sent the event details.

Time: 19:30 - 21:00 (dependant on number of bats) Ticket sales open 9am, Monday 18th August Join the Friends of Horfield Common on a guided walk led by wildlife educator, local historian and enthusiast, Steve England Steve England Outdoor Learning around Horfield Common to spot, identify and learn all about these wonderful flying mammals. He will guide you around the common, armed with bat echo locators to see how many different species of bat you can identify. You will look at the various habitats and learn all about bats – how bats see in the dark, how they find their food, how they find their way back home. It is ESSENTIAL to wear sturdy footwear, be stable on your feet, and bring a torch! There are limited spaces on this walk. Booking on a first come first served basis, and must be booked in advance!
